The Nokia 6086 is a new UMA capable handset announced at Nokia's annual Capital Market Days event. Unlicensed Mobile Access, UMA, is technology that routes voice calls over WiFi (WLAN) when possible to save on airtime fees. T-Mobile USA is currently testing the technology under the brand name T-Mobile @Home.

Orange is expected to be the first carrier to offer the Nokia 6086. It should begin shipping in the first quarter of 2007 for around 200 euros without subsidy. Because of T-Mobile's UMA trials, it's possible the phone will come stateside.
