Research In Motion Q1 fiscal 2007 results

Research In Motion announced its Q1 results for fiscal 2007. The popularity of Blackberry increased, with both revenue and profits increased. Key metrics from the release:

• There are now 5.5 million blackberry subscribers (680k additions in the quarter)
• RIM shipped 1.2 million devices in the quarter
• Revenue hit $613.1 million, net income $129.8 million

Rumors started circulating that RIM was interested in buying Palm, but there doesn't seem to be any serious base to them.
