Sprint Nextel launched a new Location Based Service (LBS) dubbed Find It that helps point users to places of interest. Find It uses the GPS built into cell phones in combination with a database of places like restaurants, gas stations and ATMs. After finding a nearby location it can give you directions from your current position. Because the phones have GPS access, Find It's local search doesn't rely on things like zip codes which can be hard to find when in an unfamiliar area.
Find It is compatible with 20 existing Sprint phones and costs $2.99 a month for unlimited use. The application was created by InfoSpace.
