3GSM 2006 -- McAfee has launched a new security suite built exclusively for mobile phones. The consumer side of the McAfee Mobile Security (there is also software for network operators and enterprise users) is an application that is available for both Symbian and Windows Mobile. McAfee VirusScan Mobile protects phones from software arriving via email, IM, downloads, SMS, MMS and Bluetooth.
There are weekly over-the-air updates to the virus definitions, much like desktop security packages work. Pricing runs $29.99 for the first year and $22.49 for each subsequent year. You can switch between phones as often as you would like, including platforms.
