We missed this one last week, but it's still news worthy. Varioptic announced that it is now shipping liquid lenses for use in camera phones. Because the lens uses liquid to focus, it's much thinner than models that use more traditional optics.
Varioptic’s Arctic 320 liquid lens changes shape automatically without mechanical aid. Acting much like the human eye, it uses electricity to change the focus of the lens by altering the border between two drops of liquid.
The Arctic 320 Camera phone liquid lens will be shown off at 3GSM next week.
