The Motorola Q has been confirmed to be picked up by Verizon Wireless. There have been rumors of such a deal since shortly after the device was announced, but a unit displayed at a Microsoft summit clearly featured the Verizon Wireless logo.
Verizon Wireless is also going to be the exclusive launch partner for the Palm Treo 700w which is a direct competitor to the Q. Both handsets are expected in Q1 2006.
Motorola hasn't said much about the Q in regards to carriers or network technology, so it's possible that the Q will also ship in a GSM version. This is the strategy that Palm uses with its Treo line.
