HTC inks deal for next gen Treo

According to the DigiTimes, HTC has inked a deal to manufacturer the next generation Treo (which has so far been called the Treo 670 in rumors). This isn't a surprise since the company already makes the Treo 650 but it does add some credence to the 670 rumors. The report noted that HTC will be making the Treo as an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) instead of an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) like it was with the 650 so there may be hefty architecture differences between the two. Shipments are expected during the first quarter of 2006.
