Cingular Q2 profit down

Cingular saw its second quarter earnings narrow thanks to costs associated to the merger with AT&T Wireless. The quarter saw $147 in profits, versus $339 million in the same period last year. The merger was completed in October 2004 (the prior mentioned numbers add both profit figures). $204 million was spent on merger integration during the quarter.
Other facts from the statement:
* 90% of calls are on the GSM network
* Monthly churn is at 2.2% (1.8% for postpaid customers)
* Net additions totaled 1.1 million, bringing Cingular's total subscriber level to 51.6 million
* Revenue was $8.61 billion
* Average revenue per user (ARPU) was $50.43, down .6% from $50.75 a year ago
Cingular Wireless is the largest carrier in the US.
