Opera Software today announced that a new version of its popular web browser has been released. Opera 8 for Symbian S60 offers an updated rendering engine among other changes:
* Major upgrade in Opera's Small-Screen Rendering (SSR)
* Four-way navigation with fast scrolling for efficient browsing on small screens
* Users can now choose between two rendering modes: Quality and Speed.
Paid users of Opera 6.20 (previously the latest version, 7 was skipped for mobile users) are able to upgrade to 8 for free. Purchased on its own, Opera 8 for Symbian Series 60 costs $19.95.
