Nokia launches 1110 and 1600

Nokia today announced two low-end handsets designed for developing markets like Africa. The Nokia 1110 and 1600 will sell for 65 and 85 euros respectively, which is
significantly more than similar models Motorola is preparing.
Feature wise both handsets are just made to be simple, small and cost effective. The Nokia 1110 (80 grams) has an inverted black on white display which make it perfect for outdoor use. The Nokia 1600 (85 grams) has a 65K color screen.
The menu system has been simplified in both phones. Nokia created a new pre-paid management system for carriers called Nokia Prepaid Tracker and it is built into both of these handsets. It, "Enables prepaid users to monitor their account balance on the handset display after each call."
Nokia should begin shipping both the 1110 and 1600 in the third quarter.
