Several US Wireless carriers have announced their preparations for hurricane season are complete. Six hurricanes made landfall in the US last year, making it one of the worst seasons on record.
Preparations for wireless carriers include network testing, preparing mobile cell sites and installing or checking battery backups. With the power out and phone lines broken, wireless communication is often the only alternative.
The hurricane season officially starts tomorrow and lasts through November 20th.
