Possible Cingular 3G launch slowdown
May 26 2005 - 01:55 AM ET | Cingular
While Cingular Wireless
previously announced that 3G service was coming sooner than expected, analysts from Deutsche Bank
now believe the rollout will be slowed down initially to 12-15 cities. Cingular, which
plans on using the HSDPA 3G standard, still is officially claiming that 3G will launch in 15-20 cities by year's end.
The analysts cite distractions and other priorities as their evidence, not equipment being behind schedule.
