PalmOne to change name back to Palm

Palm Inc. announced plans in August 2003 to spin off into two companies, PalmSource and palmOne. palmOne is the hardware company and maker of the popular Treo 650 while PalmSource is the software comapny that makes the PalmOS palmOne announced today that it has acquired rights to the Palm brand name and will be renaming itself to Palm Inc. palmOne paid $30 million for PalmSource's 55 percent share of the Palm Trademark Holding Company. PalmSource CEO David Nagel unexpectedly resigned on Sunday.
