Napstertones hits 100K download mark

Napster today announced that its new
Napstertones ringtone service has hit 100,000 downloads since its launch on May 9th. The company has a marketing advantage thanks to its existing subscriber base of over 400,000 people. The service is currently only available to T-Mobile USA and Cingular Wireless customers. Carrier compatibility is expected to increase during the Summer.
During the first 30 days after its launch on May 9th, Napster is giving away a free song download with every ringtone purchase. Most ringtones cost $1.99.
