Virgin Mobile USA launches new pricing model

In an attempt to lure more high volume customers, Virgin Mobile USA today introduced an optional new pricing model. Under the new plan, customers pay 35 cents each day (flat fee) to receive a 10 cent per minute rate all day long. However, the fee applies no matter if the phone is used, so the actual fee is around $10.50 per month. The new pricing option is available for both existing and new Virgin Mobile customers starting today, via the Virgin Mobile USA Web site and starting May 23 at retailers across the US. Verizon InPulse is a similar idea, but with a higher fee and more extras (such as free nights and in-network calling).
