By buying rival Blue Lava Wireless, Jamdat Mobile has secured the rights to selling Tetris. Not only is Tetris one of the world's most well known games, it's well suited for play on mobile phones. The cash and stock deal is valued at $137 million.
Henk Rogers, who founded Blue Lava Wireless three years ago, is co-owner of The Tetris Company LLC which controls the Tetris name. Jamdat has a 15-year exclusive on the Tetris name for mobile games, but the buyout didn't include The Tetris Company.
