RIM inks deals for enterprise IM
Research In Motion announced three agreements concerning enterprise IM. Differing from consumer IM (such as MSN Messenger and AIM) by offering security and server software to run the IM server, enterprise IM is a fast growing market.
The deals were with:
*Microsoft* - Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005. RIM expects trials to start in September.
*Novell* - GroupWise Messenger. No time frame was given.
*IBM* - Lotus Instant Messaging. Trials have already started and the software is expected to debut later this year.
