Motorola has toppled Samsung to become the second largest mobile phone manufacturer. In a report by research group Gartner, the data shows a net gain for Motorola and a net loss for Samsung. Siemens and LG also switched. Sony Ericsson stayed in last place.
Worldwide sales of mobile phones in 2004 topped 674 million units, over 30% more than in 2003.
