3GSM World Congress -- After well hyped rumors, the Motorola SLVR V8 was announced today at 3GSM in Cannes. It's a new high-end handset similar to the RAZR V3. Photos of the Motorola SLVR V8 leaked late last week, but the name floating around at the time was "Royal Blade".
Features of the SLVR V8 include:
* 126 x 220 pixel 262K color TFT display
* EDGE high-speed data
* Mini USB
* VGA camera with 4x zoom and MPEG-4 recording
* Bluetooth 2
* TransFlash memory card slot
* Push-to-Talk (not clear if this is PoC or not)
* Weight of 3.4 ounces
An estimated time to market for the Motorola SLVR V8 was not announced. The Motorola RAZR V3 took slightly over ten weeks from the original announcement until it shipped on Cingular Wireless (however, 10 weeks is an atypical case, phones often take much longer than this to appear, especially on Cingular).
