Nokia and TI to develop single-chip GSM phone

Nokia and Texas Instruments today
announced a single chip that enables most GSM phone functions. Having a single chip handle the work makes for longer battery life and smaller cheaper phones. Nokia plans to use the new chip in entry-level handsets, though no estimated launch date is known.
