Siemens to sell or close mobile unit

Register is
reporting that Siemens will either sell or close its mobile phone unit. Back in December, we
mentioned that Siemens was tossing around the idea of selling its mobile unit to a Chinese firm, but it was not known at the time that it was sell-or-die time.
bq. Siemens is the fourth largest handset maker by market share it has struggled to make a profit. In the fourth quarter of 2004 the mobile division lost €140m.
