Motorola eyes Sprint data upgrade

Motorola is looking to become a supplier for Sprint's future high-speed data upgrade. Besides the future EV-DO upgrade, Sprint's going to have a surplus of bandwidth suitable for WiMax: bq. It has said it would consider using the WiMax standard. Motorola is working on developing a mobile version of the long-range wireless WiMax technology, and hopes its history with Nextel will give it a leg up in supplying Sprint with this technology, Nottenburg said.
