Virgin Mobile China?
It was just last week that we were talking about the possibility of
Virgin Mobile India (it could still happen), but now the rumors are all about Virgin Mobile China.
Richard Branson
is in talks with a carrier in mainland China and already is saving his pennies:
bq. Sir Richard said Virgin had put aside $300m (£154m) to invest in a 50-50 joint venture.
"We are in the early stages of discussion. I suspect the whole thing would take 12 to 18 months before we'll launch," he said in Hong Kong.
He's also planning a launch in Canada soon. Other countries? Mexico, South Africa and Nigeria are all on the list.
