Cingular Wireless today increased its earnings outlook because of its buyout of AT&T Wireless. The company now expects positive cash flow in 2005, a full year ahead of schedule.
Lately the company has been full of announcements, just yesterday the company announced its 3G plans. The 3G network is slated to begin operation in late 2005. The technology--HSDPA, also known as 3.5G thanks to its superior speed--is being called by Cingular a step ahead of Verizon Wireless' offerings. Verizon today fought back and said that the company already has 3G service in 20 cities and will be much farther along in 2005:
How in the world would Cingular know where we'll be at the end of 2005 and in 2006, when they are just turning on the juice for the first time?
