IDC: Phone sales rocket in 2004

According to a
report from the research group IDC, sales of mobile phones surged nearly 25% in 2004. In the third quarter 164.1 million phones were sold. The market share battle is still fierce:
* Market leader Nokia moved back over 30%
* 0.4% separates number two Motorola and number threee Samsung
* 0.4% also separates number four Siemens and number five LG Electronics.
* Sony Ericsson is only 1% behind LG
The next quarter could show a market share shakeup...
