Vodafone to launch 3G this week

Vodafone is
expected to roll out its 3G phone network this week. The company will spend an impressive £100m ($185m US) in marketing, which pales in comparison to the billions it spent on spectrum licenses. 10 phones should be available for the launch, though it is not known if any of the phones with also be GSM (and thus be useful outside of Vodafone's reach).
3G is a big bet for Vodafone, some industry watchers think that the future of the company is riding on its sucess.
