Navy inks $100M cellular contract

The US Navy has
signed a five-year $100 million cellular service contract. It's one of the largest ever and still has the possibility for larger contracts in the future. Cingular Wireless, Nextel Comunications and Verizon Wireless were all in on the deal:
* Cingular will provide the Navy tri-band and quad-band handsets to be used in the US and overseas
* Verzion will provide an international phone (CDMA/GSM) for use both domestically and abroad. This phone is likely the
Samsung A790. Secure phones from Qualcomm will also come from Verizon, the phones are certified by the NSA.
* Nextel did not announce what it will provide
