Nextel Q3 profits

Nextel today announced its third quarter profits:

• Net income of $588 million, up 69%
• Revenue of $2.89, up 18%
• 550,000 net subscriber adds, 14.5 million total
• Average revenue per customer, $69, down $2

Turnover (or churn) was a low 1.5%. Nextel recently launched its first camera phone, the Motorola i860.
