Churches jamming cellphones

Associated Press has an article about churches and other generally quite places around the world installing cell phone jamming equipment to keep areas quite. Though the article didn't mention any locations in the US (where such equipment is illegal to use), it wasn't short on examples.
bq. In four Monterrey churches, Israeli-made cell phone jammers the size of paperbacks have been tucked unobtrusively among paintings of the Madonna and statues of the saints.
France
recently approved legislation to make cell phone jamming legal, though some restrictions apply that make effective jamming difficult.
