Research In Motion this afternoon announced its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2005. RIM of course is the maker of the popular BlackBerry device/platform.
Revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2005 was $310.2 million, up 15% from $269.6 million in the previous quarter and up 147% from $125.7 million in the same quarter of last year.
Research In Motion made $70.6 million in profit for the quarter, at the higher end of estimates. Total subscribers went up an impressive 317,000 from Q1 to a total 1,657,000 subscribers. The company intends to have 2 million subscribers by the end of the year.
The BlackBerry 7100t should carry the next quarter--it began shipping today from T-Mobile USA.
