DoCoMo and Cingular to partner
Reuters is
reporting by way of Nihon Keizai that Japan based NTT DoCoMo will enter into a partnership with US based Cingular Wireless. The pact will help unify 3G cellphone technology.
bq. The tie-up, under which DoCoMo and Cingular will share technology such as phone software and the DoCoMo's I-mode mobile Internet service, will lead to cheaper phones and will allow users to use the same phone in both the United States and Japan.
The two companies would be able to pool as many as 90 million customers.
