Motorola MPx100 possibly cancelled
Jul 15 2004 - 03:03 PM ET | Motorola, Rumor
DigiTimes is
reporting that Motorola has told Compal, the company it contracted to make the Motorola MPx100, to postpone its order of MPx100 smartphones.
bq. Motorola originally placed orders for three smartphone models based on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 2003 OS with Chi Mei Communication Systems (CMCS), Compal Communications and Compal Electronics, as reported on July 6. The sources indicated that CMCS still holds orders for the MPx220 model and Compal Electronics has the MPx.
The Motorola MPx100 was
announced in February 2004. If this report is true, it does not necessarily mean the phone will never come to market, but delays like this are never good.
