The Mozilla Foundation has gotten a cash infusion from Nokia to make a Mozilla based browser for mobile phones--Minimo. The challenge is to shrink the size of Mozilla, a popular open source web browser, into somthing that your phone can handle. If it happens all as planned, everyone will have a nice standards compliant free mobile web browser. bq. For end users, the same browser you are used to running on your desktop and laptop will be available in a slimmed down form on your palmtop, but it will have full support for accessing the variety of content you are used to viewing. For content developers, the same set of standards based rich content can now be extended to a number of new users accessing the web over wireless handheld devices. It's not clear how much cash Nokia coughed up.
