BEA demos new mobile browser

BEA Systems recently demonstrated a new type of mobile brower to PC World Magazine. It aims to provide mobile users the same utility from the internet as desktop users.

Dubbed Alchemy, the technology extends the idea of a Web browser by adding an additional memory cache for fetching and storing information that a user might want to view offline. It also includes a server component that handles synchronization requests from clients and can tap into other sources of data to complete transactions.

However, BEA's techs make sure to note that Alchemy isn't a product as much as a concept. Mobile browsers still have a long way to go, but maybe we'll see some tricks from the Alchemy playbook.
