Chip maker Intel is showing off a new chip aimed to power high-end mobile phones and PDA's. The XScale processor is savvy with wireless communications, and has a lower power consumption than the chips being used today. Intel hopes to release the XScale in the second quarter of this year.
The XScale processors, which have higher performance and lower power consumption, allow cell phones to offer video conferencing and PDAs with DVD-like image quality, an Intel statement said.
