Philippines considers a tax on text messages

While goverments being strapped for cash is nothing new, looking to text messages to help ease the pain is. The Philippine goverment is
considering putting a tax on text messages that would bring in an estimated 500 million pesos per year. However, the deficit last year was 200
billion pesos, so the tax would make little difference.
