Japanese broadcasters agree on mobile standard

Japan's six major television networks
announced an agreement that could bring high-quality digital signals to mobile phones in 2006. The networks are:
* Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK)
* TBS
* NTV
* TV Asahi
* Fuji TV
* TV Tokyo
Late last year Japan became the 12th country to broadcast digital TV signals.
