MiTAC launches Mio 8390 smartphone

MiTAC announced it's latest handset today in Taiwan. The Mio 8390 is just the third smartphone to run Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 OS. It has a myriad of features, including:
* Digital camera (zoom/flash) with video recording capability
* 40-polyphony and MP3 ring tones
* 2.2" 260K color display
* Java MIDP 2.0
* Integrated MSN Messenger client
* 16MB RAM plus SD/MMC expansion slot
The price is about $475 US, give or take a few depending on the exchange rate. The shipping date is tagged as "Early part of February", but it seems we're already past that point. We'll let you know once we hear it is shipping.
