TI expects doubled battery life, smaller cases

Cell phone chip making giant Texas Instruments
announced that later this year it will unveil a single chip that can do multiple cell phone functions. The benefit to consumers is a 50% reduction in power consumption and board space. This will allow other technology like WiFi to become standard on cell phones.
