AT&T Wireless intros IM

AT&T Wireless partnered with AOL to provide AIM and ICQ to its mobile phones. This puts an embedded version of AIM on select AT&T Wireless phones. For launch, the embedded version of AIM is loaded onto the Nokia 3100 and 3200 handsets.
Outgoing messages cost 10¢, while incoming messages are free.
Verizon Wireless and
Cingular Wireless recently announced similar agreements.
