Cingular / DoCoMo / Vodafone talk AT&T Wireless
According to a Reuters
report, Cingular has made an official bid to buy out AT&T Wireless. Stock of AT&T Wireless (
AWE) is jumping on the news. The bid is for $11 per share.
Yet another story says Euro carrier Vodafone may be looking to make a counter offer. We
first mentioned this rumor late last year.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal
notes that NTT DoCoMo is mulling a bid as well. As you may know, NTT DoCoMo already owns 17% of AT&T Wireless.
