Worldwide cellphone shipments up 21%

According to a
recent IDC release, worldwide mobile phone shipments were up 21.2% for the 3rd quarter vs. the same quarter a year ago. The total number of phones shipped was an impressive 130 million. Here are the standings:

Nokia - 35%

Motorola - 15.5%

Samsung - 11.5%

Siemens - Sales rose nearly 40%, but total market share is unknown

LG - 5.8%
LG barely beat out former #5 maker
Sony Ericsson (5.5% share).
