Nokia gobbles more Symbian
Aug 29 2003 - 09:57 AM ET | Nokia
Nokia is in the process of buying out part of Motorola's stake in Symbian. This along with Nokia's previous holdings will mean that Nokia will own about 31% of the mobile software company. The other shares are going to Psion.
Interestingly enough,
just yesterday, Motorola announced a new Symbian powered phone. The re-affirmed that they will continue to use Symbian software in upcoming models, so it's a little odd that they sell out at this point. Maybe the books are just that bad.
