New Apple Software Uses Mobile Tech

During the WWDC Keynote yesterday Apple introduced a new version of its iChat software. Doesn't sound neat until you dig into the details.
iChat A/V does both voice and video (on top of text), and uses the same "audio technology" as CDMA to power the voice traffic.
Most of the technology in CDMA is to actually "move" the voice, something iChat A/V does via the internet, so we assume that Apple is using the same compression. In a test that MobileTracker conducted late yesterday, we found the audio quality to be great--better than most mobile phones. If you have any information on this, please let us know (comments are open).
One last note... Qualcomm developed CDMA, but it is not clear if Apple is having to pay a licensing fee.
