MobileTechNews is reporting that the Russian Communications Ministry has OK'd the use of Bluetooth.
"Jason Smolek, Senior Consultant of J'son & Partners Moscow was upbeat. "The ratification of Bluetooth in Russia comes at impeccable timing. While the rest of world had overshot expectations for Bluetooth in the late 1990s, now there exist real applications for Russian consumers to reap immediate benefits.""
If you live in Russia, please let us know what this announcement really means. Obviously Bluetooth worked before, but was it actively prohibited.
Update: The word from Russia is what we excepted--they used Bluetooth before but the passage is still important because it makes it easier for companies that make Bluetooth devices to import them into Russia. Thanks Andy!
