3G.co.uk thinks that MMS will be a flop due to it not having content. Why won't it have any content? A lack of copyright protection or what's called Digital Rights Management in the biz.
"Without some form of DRM, anybody who receives content in a MMS, can forward that content to as many friends as they like. Those friends can again forward it to others. So a content provider is getting paid once for their content, that is then being shared between maybe hundreds - or even thousands - of mobile users, for free!"
Obviously a site about 3G will be biased towards 3G, but it's an interesting read nonetheless. A few years ago SMS was the new thing and had death predictions--we all know how it has fared.
