J-Phone and DoCoMo are planning to team up and give Japanese consumers "high-resolution million-pixel camera-phones in May". Current camera phones are known for their low resolutions and rely on a "cool factor" to sell. A megapixel camera phone could actually be useful for taking photos fit for something other than a postage stamp.
The phones will be made by Mitsubishi and will be officially announced April 8th--stay tuned to MobileTracker for the forthcoming details.
Update: We've gotten word that two more phones will be brought out after the Mitsubishi model from both Sony Ericsson and Fujitsu.
